A tiny macOS Finder utility for copying local file links into AI prompts, notes, and tasks.
When an AI needs to read a local file, the first friction is often just telling it where the file is. Jag's directory adds simple Finder actions for copying and reopening exact local paths.
Right-click a file or folder and copy a clean file:// URL.
Select a local file link in text and reveal the file in Finder.
Paste exact local references into prompts so local agents can find files faster.
Clone the repository and run the installer. It creates Automator Quick Actions in ~/Library/Services.
git clone https://github.com/jagyamamoto/jags-directory.git
cd jags-directory
./install.sh
Beginners can paste a ready-made prompt into Codex or Claude Code and have the agent install Jag's directory by CLI.
Install Jag's directory from https://github.com/jagyamamoto/jags-directory.git on this Mac. Use CLI/file operations only, clone it into ~/Projects/jags-directory, run chmod +x install.sh scripts/*.sh, run ./install.sh, verify the three ~/Library/Services workflows were created, and explain the Finder right-click usage in simple Japanese.
